LISA PHELAN DESIGN

Based in the Otway Ranges of Victoria, Sue and John Harris specialise in lustrous, black huacaya alpacas on their Mountain Pepper Farm. Their vision is to produce the best quality black, dense, soft fleece through sophisticated breeding programs. They are also skilled spinners and create a range of yarns for knitting and textile crafts. Onyx needed a unique identity to promote the farm to the region and beyond and an ensuing range of promotional material. The logo combines a black alpaca icon showing its growing fleece with the farm's rolling green hills, creating a strong stylistic image that is uniquely Onyx.

To support the website and printed material a photographic expedition to Wyelangta was undertaken to document the Harris farm and their black alpacas. The images captured show the extroardinary beauty of the region and the alapca herd.
